Two men were arrested in connection with an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs after a raid at a car dealership in Farnworth.

A pair of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) tactical aid units raided the car dealership on Lorne Street – Stellar Motors – at around 10am this morning (April 16).

And a couple of GMP neighbourhood teams raided two addresses on Brentwood Drive, Farnworth, and on Morris Green Lane, Great Lever, at the same time as a part of the same sting.

Earlier they were in wait at Farnworth Cricket Club and Essa Academy respectively before the call came in to "strike, strike, strike".

Two men were arrested in connection with an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs. The arrests are on suspicion of money laundering as, although cash has been seized by police, no drugs have been seized by police at this time.

Inspector Keiron Maddocks, of GMP's Bolton South Neighbourhood Team, told The Bolton News: "Today my team along with other teams in Bolton are working together on a number of warrants in Bolton looking for Class A drugs.

"The operation is the tip of the mountain, so to speak, as you see everyone working together, but it has been in the planning phase for four weeks to six weeks.

"It all starts with intelligence from the community for which we are grateful."

Insp Maddocks added: "I think drug use is the foundation for a lot of other things.

"The drugs we are talking about today, the Class A drugs like cocaine, people can get hooked on them and people can go on to commit other crime

"The finances feed into crime groups so it is really, really important for us to crack down on it and for us to stop it as early as we can."
