Police worry over teenager's disappearance

POLICE are appealing for information following the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl.

Maryi Razaq was last seen by her family on Tuesday evening at her home address in Deepdale, Preston.

She left the family home late on Tuesday evening and has not been seen or heard of since.

Maryi, who has friends in Bolton, is 5ft 5ins tall, Asian, and has very long black hair which is often worn in a ponytail.

She wears a white ring, white necklace, silver watch and bracelet.

At the time she went missing it is not known what clothes she was wearing, although officers believe she is in possession of a JD sports bag, a traditional Asian dress, pants and shoes.

Detective Inspector Dave McKenna said: "Due to the fact that Maryi is only 15 years of age and has been missing since late Tuesday evening we are becoming very concerned for her welfare.

"I am appealing to anyone who has seen or heard from Maryi since Tuesday night to make contact with us at Preston on 01772 203 203. Alternatively, I would urge Maryi to contact me directly as I need to know that she is safe and well."
