A MAN who drove his mum's courtesy car without a licence has been jailed.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard that Andrew Pilkington, of Bromwich Street, Bolton, was picking up his girlfriend and her children in the early hours of the morning when police spotted that one of the children in the car was not wearing a seat belt.
Police indicated to the driver to pull over but he ignored them, driving through a red light and into a kerb. The court heard that Pilkington, aged 24, got out of the car and ran away before he was eventually apprehended.
He was driving the car with his mother's consent, but not with the consent of the car owners, AVIS.
Pilkington was sentenced to three months in prison and had his licence endorsed for 12 months.
