Halloween is just around the corner and community app Nextdoor is helping people across Bolton to find the best streets for sweets.

The neighbourhood network app has relaunched its innovative 'Treat Map' due to popular demand, enabling people to showcase if they are celebrating Halloween and if other houses nearby are too.

The ‘Treat Map’ is simple to use, all people need to do is head to Nextdoor’s ‘Discover’ map and mark their home with a pumpkin pin to indicate that they'll be handing out sweets to eager trick-or-treaters.

Laura Roche, Managing Director UK at Nextdoor, said: “Whether you're out knocking on doors in your local community or inviting people to your own home, Halloween presents a fantastic opportunity to meet your neighbours in a fun and friendly way."

The Bolton News: Halloween

“Our ‘Treat Map’ helps users plan their trick or treat route in areas they know best as well as find homes that are open to meeting their neighbours.”

Nextdoor’s top tips for staying safe while trick or treating -

Plan ahead and enjoy the occasion in Bolton and use ‘Treat Map’ to stick to the well-lit areas  while also wearing bright clothing.

Many Halloween costumes can be dark so children should wear reflective fabric or tape and adults should carry a torch or phone lights.
