A Westhoughton indoor inflatable centre has replaced all of its major inflatable equipment as part of a ‘big renovation’.

Airvault’s Mark Denison said the family business decided to bounce back from Covid and debt by replacing all its equipment.

The indoor centre, located on Wingates industrial Estate in Westhoughton, now has a new inflatable jump tower, as well as a climbing wall, slides, an obstacle course, and an inflatable sports court – complete with a Velcro dartboard, football net, and basketball hoops.

To stand out, the attraction is even offering UV parties – where children can celebrate in glowing rooms.

Mark said: “The party rooms have UV lighting and a glow on things like the cups and plates.

“The tablecloths don’t glow, and I’ve got to go all the way to China to get it as you can’t get it over here, just to lift it even more.

“You’ve got to be constantly pushing, and I think in children’s leisure, kids are quite fickle and they get quite bored easily, so you’ve got be trying to do something new and different.”

When the centre first opened in 2015 as a trampoline park, there was less competition. Since then, Mark says, attractions such as Stretford’s Dino Falls Adventure Golf – which opened in 2017 – and attractions such as ‘Glow Karting’ have entered the space.

Mark hopes one way to stand out will be to keep prices reasonable, so families can continue to afford to visit despite the cost-of-living crisis.

A cafe in the centre also provides a space for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones.

Mark said: “It’s a competitive market, it’s quite tough, but we always try to keep our prices quite reasonable.

“Even in the summer holiday we do what’s called the family session, at 9.30 in the morning, and it’s quite heavily discounted – it’s like £7 per kid, that first session.

“We realise there’s families out there on quite a tight budget, so if you can get out of bed and get yourself sorted you can come to this session, it works quite well – they get popular.”
