A SINGLE mum from Bolton has told the inspiring story of her life as a young mother at a national awards ceremony in York.
Zoe Blunt, aged 25, of Tonge Moor, spoke of the help she received from Sarah Lodge, a housing scheme in Bolton.
She said: “Sarah Lodge did so much for me. When I moved there I had no confidence at all. I’d been through a lot.
“But the staff worked with me and I learned life skills and gained confidence. Now my ambition is to be a counsellor and help other young mothers.”
Watching Ms Blunt’s presentation from the audience was her daughter, Jodie, aged six, and staff from Sarah Lodge.
Sarah Lodge is owned and run by Manchester Methodist Housing Association, part of Great Places Housing Group.
Ms Blunt was presented with a bottle of Champagne at the National Housing Federation Neighbourhood Awards.
