A FRESH appeal for information about the murder of a teenager who was attacked by a gang with a baseball bat has had a poor response, according to police.

Paul Croft, aged 19, suffered severe head injuries after he was attacked by a mob of 14 youths on March 24 last year.

He died a week later in Hope Hospital, Salford.

His girlfriend, Kirsty McIntosh, aged 17, of Little Hulton, gave birth to twin boys, Matthew and Paul, three months later.

An appeal was made last week on the first anniversary of his death.

A total of 12 people have been arrested in connection with Mr Croft's murder.

Two 17-year-olds from Clifton were arrested on February 28 this year and are currently on police bail.

Ten other people were arrested on suspicion of murder in March and April last year.

They were released without charge.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "There was a limited response to our recent appeal.

"We are continuing to ask anyone with information about Paul's murder to come forward."
